Manages and executes all daily survey duties including:
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Setting out shaft locations, vertical and horizontal alignment control for all tunneling and shaft operations.
- Experience working with Total Station and GNSS
- Responsible for maintaining and servicing survey equipment including lasers, TBM Targets etc
- Installation, support and troubleshooting of guidance systems for Tunnel Boring Machines (training will be given).
- Preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to survey
- Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all project survey aspects to suit needs of schedule
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, other project sites, meetings, training, etc.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Organized with excellent time management skills
- Excellent mathematical and technical skills
- AutoCAD capabilities would be an advantage
Education/Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with some tunneling experience
- Proven Track Record
Physical Demands
- Comfortable working at height as well as in confined spaces (Shafts and Tunnels)
- Travel may be required to other project sites, attend training and meetings
- Ability to sit or stand for entire shift
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb
- Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least fifty pounds
- Work outdoors in all-weather conditions
- Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly
- Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus but not required
